Day #21 - Sitting In Limbo

We were running errands today when Terri reminded me that it was Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday if you wish. I thought it would be appropriate to do something from our time in New Orleans in the early 80’s. I figured I’d hunt down something by The Neville Brothers. We were introduce to the Brothers early in our time in NOLA, and they became our absolute favorite band. Many nights were spent dancing to their music at Tipitina’s at the corner of Napoleon and Tchoupitoulas.

Turns out I could only find the Jimmy Cliff song “Sitting in Limbo”, that the Neville’s recorded on their 1981 studio album Fiyo on the Bayou (reviewed here last February). This video is the absolute first time I’ve played the song through. At the publishing of this post the Krewe of Rex is closing out its parade with the ball of the Mystic Krewe, which officially closes the Carnival Season.

Happy Mardi Gras!
