Day #3 - Tyler Childers “Country Squire”
Tyler Childers is one of those artists I found on Outlaw Country. I’m sure his music is played on other channels, but I’m of the opinion that he fits in perfectly with the eclectic mix of old, new, and in-between outlaw. At the very young age of 31, he seems like an old soul. His father was a Kentucky coal miner. His songs reflect his background, and many are fashioned into the story telling I love so much. I haven’t heard a Tyler Childers song I don’t like.
“Country Squire” speaks to me directly now that Terri and I are on the road in our own, though more modern, Country Squire. He sings about real places like Chillicothe, a town half way between the Kentucky border and Columbus, Ohio. And Circleville, just 15 miles north of the before mentioned Chillicothe. Maybe we’ll visit them one day. And who’s the “Lady of Estell Springs”, TN? Could he be singing about his Mom and Dad? Did his Dad “fix up a Temple” for his Mom?
