Day #23 - Starting Over

The title track on Chris Stapleton’s fourth studio album was released on August 28, 2020. About two months later Terri retired and we ordered our Renegade Vienna motorhome. It would be another five months before we picked it up in Roseville, California, on April 8th of 2021. When I first heard this song I immediately thought of us taking to the road in our new Vienna. “The road rolls out like a welcome mat…”, indeed it does.

The entirety of the lyric spoke to me. “We’ve been saving for a rainy day. Let’s beat the storm and be on our way”. No shit! Almost 50 years of working for this. It’s our time. “…and nobody wins afraid of losing. And the hard roads are the ones worth choosing. Some day we’ll look back and smile, and know it was worth every mile”.

Next trip, March 23rd. I can’t wait.
