Buckle Up for 2025: Big Plans, Bigger Adventures with SkyDog

As the dust settles on 2024—a year that could only be described as “tumultuous but adventurous”—we’re shifting gears and looking forward to an even more exciting 2025. GR84RED (our trusty Renegade Vienna) is prepped and ready, and we’ve already got two major road trips in the works. So, grab a cup of coffee, and let’s hit the road map!

Spring Road Trip: Sweet Tea and Southern Charms

First up is a springtime journey to some of our favorite spots in the South: South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. This trip is all about revisiting old haunts, reconnecting with friends, and indulging in our favorite pastimes like golf and maybe even a little fishing.

We’re adding a bit of historical flair to this adventure with planned stops at the Manassas Civil War Battlefield and the Allman Brothers Museum—because who says you can’t mix fun and education?

And for the cherry on top, we’ll have our Jeep Wrangler tagging along, giving us the freedom to veer off the beaten path and explore some of the South’s hidden gems. Southern hospitality, here we come!

Cross-Country Adventure: Northern Routes and Family Reunions

Our second big adventure of the year is a cross-country road trip to Southern California for a family event. But this isn’t your typical “point A to point B” journey—oh no. We’re taking the scenic route, starting with Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and a visit to the enchanting Mackinaw Island.

From there, it’s on to Hudson, Wisconsin, where we’ll spend time with our dear friends Bonnie and Randy Conom. (No road trip would be complete without a pit stop to share laughs and stories with them!)

Next, we’ll roll through South Dakota for the Vienna/Villagio rally in Spearfish, where the Black Hills await with their rugged beauty and timeless charm. From there, Montana beckons with its wide-open skies and friendly faces: a return visit to Billings to catch up with my cousin Laura’s family, and a stay in Anaconda with Kim and Ed Jones.

But wait, there’s more! Northern California will host us for a bit, starting with my brother Matt and his wife Cheryl at the Grass Valley RV Resort, followed by a visit to my sister Maureen and her family in Fresno. Finally, we’ll land in Highlands, California, for the family event that started this whole cross-country escapade.

As for the journey back to Danbury? That’s still up in the air—but don’t be surprised if we meander through Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, or Kentucky. Why choose when you love them all?

Looking Ahead

2024 was a wild ride, but if there’s one thing it taught us, it’s that adventure is out there—if you’re brave enough to chase it. With SkyDog at the helm and our Jeep Wrangler in tow, we’re ready to embrace whatever 2025 has in store.

What about you? Got any big road trips planned for the year? Drop your must-visit destinations or tips for the best roadside diners in the comments—we’re always looking for inspiration!
